SEPTEMBER - "BE COOL AT SCHOOL!"
In these playful and teaching tales, wee ones learn how to be “cool” at school. Stories about using manners, waiting your turn, tidying up, and listening to others when they are speaking will keep the classroom at the perfect temperature. R-E-S-P-E-C-T—find out how cool it can be!
OCTOBER - "WHO GIVES A HOOT?"
Owls do, of course! Venture into the evening for wondrous stories of this nocturnal creature that also screeches, hisses, and screams. But BE AWARE--there will be nothing but giggles and hoots for hearkening ears in this owling outing.
NOVEMBER - “THANK YOU COMMUNITY HELPERS!”
World Kindness Day is celebrated on November 13 this year and gives us an opportunity to talk about good deeds. Our services with a smile folks are given a big thank you in these factual and fun stories of community helpers. Tales and catchy tunes of fire fighters, police, doctors and nurses, teachers, and mail carriers take the children through a day full of people helping people.
DECEMBER - “O CHRISTMAS TREE”
Dressed in “fir” from head to toe, Jo shares delightful stories of the Christmas tree and the joy it brings to people everywhere. She’ll invite the children to help “decorate” as the tales unfold.
JANUARY - “SOCK IT TO ME AND MORE!”
It’s officially winter and time to bring out the “keep me warm” footwear, mittens, and scarves—THE WINTER WOOLIES! In this “frosty weather” storytelling program, Jo spins hilarious stories of winter gear guaranteed to keep those fingers and toes comfy plus tickle your funny bone too. Wear your favorite pair of socks!
FEBRUARY - "BABY BEAR, BABY BEAR, WHAT DO YOU SENSE?"
Join Baby Bear and Jo with stories and songs in this highly interactive program designed to enhance an awareness of the precious gifts of sight, taste, touch, smell, and hearing. Through the adventures of Baby Bear, children discover how their senses play an important role in their daily lives.
MARCH - “LET’S GO FLY A KITE!”
Yes, even inside, we can go up to the highest heights with the simplest to the most ornate of these tethered aircraft gadgets. Children will soar with delight in the stories of how kites were invented; the diversity of kite designs from around the world, and learn kite-flying safety rules too. Ride the spring breeze—my kite and me!
APRIL - “POETRY IN MOTION”
Engage a child’s imagination in this rhythmic and rhyming program celebrating National Poetry Month. Jo presents a very fresh and funny approach to poetry as she invites the kiddos to chime in and move to the beat of words with pizzazz!
MAY - “CRAZY HAIR DAY!”
Need a new hairdo to end the school year or to head into summer? How about shaggy like a yak, or sleek like a seal, or spiked like a porcupine? Whatever your style, come with your creative coiffure and hear some ditties of creatures with unique tresses.
JUNE - “WE’RE GOING ON A BEACH TREASURE HUNT”
It’s the perfect time of year for an imaginative beach scavenger hunt. We’ll fill our buckets with shells, unique rocks, and a bit of seaweed to decorate our sandcastles as we dip into a fun collection of tales from the water’s edge.
JULY - “JUNGLE TALES"
Roar with the lions, swing with the monkeys, stomp with the elephants, and pounce with the tigers in exciting tales about tails. Jo presents an upbeat rhythmic romp with clever stories about kids’ favorite animals of the wild. The tales teach valuable lessons with loads of lively participation.
AUGUST - “BLUE RIBBONS AT THE COUNTY FAIR”
Time to head to a county fair before summer comes to an end! Listeners will get some “blue ribbon bests” in these award winning yarns about pigs, quilts, and homemade jams. Oink, stitch, and yum!
