SEPTEMBER - "DELIGHTFUL, POLITEFUL DINOSAURS!"
Join some very silly dinosaurs who need some help in learning their manners. Through stories and playful adventures, children will discover the importance of saying “please” and “thank you,” taking turns, listening carefully, and not interrupting others. When the dinosaurs make hilarious mistakes, young listeners help them learn the right thing to do. It’s a fun and engaging way to practice important social skills as the kids begin a new school year.
OCTOBER - "FALL ADVENTURES OF SQUIRREL AND HEDGEHOG”
Through stories, songs, and interactive fun, preschoolers will learn about the fascinating woodland animals, squirrel and hedgehog. It’s an exciting fall adventure exploring squirrel’s busy nut-gathering habits and hedgehog’s cozy preparations for hibernation. A wonderful way to celebrate the sights, sounds and wonders of autumn.
NOVEMBER - “HOME SWEET HOME”
Best month ever to give thanks for family and to honor the kindred clan! Stories of sensational siblings, rousing relatives, and perky parents offer up a genealogical good time of exploring the family tree. Big or small, “I’m thankful for my family.”
DECEMBER - “RING THOSE BELLS!”
Time for a merry, musical escapade as we travel about the world in tales about jingle bells, hand bells, cow bells, and chimes. The wee ones will listen, sing, move, and ring along as they experience the unique sounds that bells make, making it a joyful way to celebrate the season.
JANUARY - “WILD ABOUT BEARS”
Child, child, what do you see? “I see a whole bunch of different kinds of bears looking at me!” In this furry, beary fun storytelling program, the youngsters will learn about the eight species of bears and their habits and habitats. Polar Bear, Sun Bear, Moon Bear and Panda, Brown Bear, Black Bear, Sloth and Spectacled Bear-- amazing superpowers of each type of bear and fun facts too.
FEBRUARY - "TICK TOCK-IT’S ALL ABOUT CLOCKS"
Put on your pajamas, cuddle up with a soft blanket, and get ready to enjoy some timely Tick Tock tales and time-telling capers. Teaching the very basics about the big hand and the little hand, children will meet a pendulum clock, a cuckoo clock, a mantel clock, and an alarm clock. It’s a playful hands-on participatory program that makes learning about time lots of fun.
MARCH - “FANTASTIC FROGS AND POLLIWOGS!”
Ribbit your way into spring as we explore the amazing life cycle of a frog. Through nursery rhymes, silly stories, and songs, we’ll discover how tiny eggs grow into polliwogs, then froglets, and finally full-grown frogs. As winter melts into warmer weather, it’s a hopping out of hibernation to a metamorphosis spring outing.
APRIL - “WHEN PIGS FLY AND OTHER IDIOMS”
April is National Humor Month, and what better way to celebrate than with laughter, whimsical stories, and idioms. Curious minds will discover what an idiom is as they explore funny expressions like “a piece of cake,” “it’s raining cats and dogs,” “when pigs fly,” and other colorful sayings. Each idiom comes to life through a short tale that helps children understand its meaning while enjoying plenty of giggles. It’s a laugh-filled adventure where words don’t always mean exactly what they say.
MAY - “WE’RE GOING ON A TREE HUNT”
Can you imagine the youngsters shouting, “that tree is CONIFEROUS, and that one is DECIDUOUS!” It’s a mouthful, but through fun facts and stories, Jo teaches even the youngest children the simple science and beauty of trees. The kids will head into summer knowing why trees are so important to animals and people and just might want to “give a tree a hug.”
JUNE - “HULA IN HAWAII!”
Set sail for an imaginative journey to the Hawaiian Islands for tropical folklore and legends. Jo shares her personally collected “hang loose” stories during her time on the islands. Why do the Hawaiian’s eat poi? Want to learn the Hawaiian hokey pokey? Begin the summer aloha style!
JULY - “AMERICAN TALL TALES"
Introduce children to the biggest characters of all—the All-American Tall Tale folklore heroes of Johnny Appleseed, Pecos Bill, Slue Foot Sue, John Henry, and more! This rip-roaring, thunderous storytelling program gives a whole new meaning to the “Whopper!”
AUGUST - “TEA PARTY PICNIC WITH MY PALS”
Join us for a delightful summer story time as a young child hosts a picnic tea party for her favorite pals—a teddy bear, a doll, and a stuffed rabbit! Through charming stories preschoolers will learn simple table manners and picnic etiquette while discovering tasty foods that are perfect for a summer picnic. Bring your imagination and enjoy a sweet time of friendship, learning, and fun in the sunshine!
