SEPTEMBER - "AESOP'S FABLES"
From a clever crow to a brave little mouse, these short tales of long ago still make a big impact today! Humorously presented with a delightful dramatic flair, this back to school program offers gentle lessons in goodness, kindness, sharing, and friendship.
OCTOBER- "UNSCARY SCARECROWS!"
Join Jo and her not so scary scarecrows for a lively story time to learn about autumn and harvest time. The kid-size fall mascots will invite lots of giggles in this farmer's field festival of stories and sing-a-longs.
NOVEMBER - “TURKEY TALES”
It's TURKEY TIME! But not for dinner please. Time to strut in some adventurous fine-feathered stories of thankfulness for family and friends. Birds of many feathers stick together in this November feast of gratitude.
DECEMBER - “JOY AROUND THE WORLD”
Travel around the world for a global December holiday celebration with well wishes for peace to all at every stop. Enjoy the festivities of Omisoka in Japan, Hanukkah in Israel, Kwanzaa in Africa, and a very Mele Kalikimaka in Hawaii.
JANUARY - “A WOOLAND WINTER”
Step into a magical winter wonderland as the bears, deer, rabbits, and other forest creatures discover the beauty of this special time of year. Snuggle up and discover winter secrets in stories and songs.
FEBRUARY - "AFRICAN AMERICAN INVENTORS"
Let's celebrate the contributions of African Americans during Black History Month. From Elijah McCoy to Madam CJ Walker to George Washington Carver, the inventions of African Americans have made a BIG impact on our daily lives. Even the youngest of ears will be amazed in these true tales of the inventions of the eggbeater, the automatic traffic signal, potato chips, and many more!
MARCH - “NATIONAL LET'S LAUGH DAY!”
Calling all gigglers! After a long winter, this is the DAY we've been waiting for. March 19, 2023 is National Let's Laugh Day. But, through the silliest of stories, Jo is offering chuckles and belly laughs the entire month of March. Cacklers and chortlers most welcomed!
APRIL - “POETRY IN MOTION!”
Engage a child's imagination in this rhythmic and rhyming program of fabulous and funny children's poetry. It's a fresh and creative role-playing approach as Jo invites listeners to chime in, jump in, and voice their voices to the beat of the words with pizzazz!
MAY - “DIGGING IN THE DIRT”
Dig a little in the dirt and we'll find a seed. Dig a little more, and we'll unearth a wiggle worm. Digging further down, a look at a prairie dog's mound. And way, way down...dinosaur bones! We'll be digging up some stories while we're at it!
JUNE - “STARRING ME IN A STORY!”
Kids LOVE to perform and this summer, actress turned storyteller Jo Ho, invites the youngsters to "star" in famed fairytales and folktales. Jo encourages the kids to "characterize" their wonderful ideas and natural abilities with words and movement. They'll be having so much fun acting out the stories, they may not notice that they're developing social skills and oral language.
JULY - “I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM!"
I scream, you scream, we ALL scream for Ice Cream! In these frosty scoop-filled tales, Jo dishes up scrumptious stories about the history of ice cream, how it goes from cow to market, and how to create the best "stack 'em on" cone ever. No brain freeze guaranteed!
AUGUST - “HIKING ACROSS THE USA!"
In this almost end of the summer storytelling program, listeners will travel in tales over shores, fields, trails, mountains, and beaches to discover the uniqueness and diversity of this great nation. USA! USA! USA!
